Cervical Spondylitis

Cervical Spondylitis

In most cases, cervical spondylosis occurs as a result of degenerative changes in the spine during aging. Intervertebral discs become dry, and then around the time, you turn 40 . Disc degeneration can cause herniation one of the signs of cervical spondylosis. Aging in the cervical region of the spine also can lead to signs of spondylosis such as bone spurs on the vertebral body or facet joints. With age ligaments that bind the spine together become thickened and Stiff. This condition also can cause symptoms of cervical spondylosis. Usually, cervical spondylosis occurs in older people but some factors can contribute to its development early in life. One main cause an injury to the cervical region of the spine. Holding your cervical spine in an uncomfortable position for prolonged periods can contribute to the development of spondylosis. Many scientists believe that cervical spondylosis is a genetic disease that children inherit from their parents.

Stages of Cervical Spondylitis

Stages of Cervical Spondylitis

  • Stage 1: Dysfunction
    Treatment Time : 3 month, Session Required : 15
  • Stage 2: Instability
    Treatment Time : 6 month, Session Required : 30
  • Stage 3: Stabilization
    Treatment Time : 9 month, Session Required : 45
Cervical Spondylitis stage1 | Global Health

Stage 1 : Dysfunction

The patient complains of nonspecific neck pain with localized tenderness. On radiographic examination, the disc degeneration is obvious, as seen in the loss of height and the bulging of the annulus beyond the vertebral margins.

Treatment Time : 3 Month

Sesssion Required : 15

Cervical Spondylitis stage2 | Global Health

Stage 2 : Instability

Fibrosis of the facet joints occurs, along with even greater disc degeneration and osteophyte formation. Osteophytes form along the edges of the facet joints, leading to enlarged facets. Lateral nerve root entrapment becomes more common in this stage, leading to radicular signs and lateral stenosis in the intervertebral foramen.

Treatment Time : 6 Month

Sesssion Required : 30

Cervical Spondylitis stage3 | Global Health

Stage 3 : Stabilization

Fibrosis of the facet joints occurs, along with even greater disc degeneration and osteophyte formation. Osteophytes form along the edges of the facet joints, leading to enlarged facets. Lateral nerve root entrapment becomes more common in this stage, leading to radicular signs and lateral stenosis in the intervertebral foramen.

Treatment Time : 9 Month

Sesssion Required : 45

Cervical Spondylitis Symptoms

Cervical Spondylitis Symptoms

  • The first and main symptom of cervical spondylosis is a pain in the neck portion of the spine.
  • It occurs due to compression of the spinal cord and nerve roots from disc herniation.
  • Bone spurs or thickened ligaments.
  • In most cases, the pain of cervical spondylosis increases with movement the reason for this phenomenon is the compression of nerve roots during movement of the cervical vertebrae.
  • Pain in the arms may be a symptom of cervical spondylosis it occurs due to compression of nerves that extend into the arms through the next portion of the spine.
  • The site's pain cervical spondylosis can cause weakness numbness and cramping in the arms these conditions arise due to nerve compression.
  • In severe cases, cervical spondylosis can cause compression of the spinal cord and difficulty walking loss of balance, and impaired coordination.
  • In very rare cases when cervical spondylosis causes compression of the spinal cord and bladder incontinence may occur.
Cervical Spondylitis Causes

Cervical Spondylitis Causes

  • Cervical spondylosis occurs because of long-term degeneration and wear-and-tear of the cervical spine.
  • A previous neck injury may also lead to the condition.
  • Some long-term activities may increase the risk of developing cervical spondylosis, such as carrying heavy loads, practicing martial arts, or being a professional dancer or gymnast.
  • Some researchers say that there could be a genetic cause because the condition sometimes runs in families.
  • It usually starts to appear afer the age of 40 years, and it progresses over time.
  • Men usually develop it at an earlier age than women.
  • Smoking may also increase the risk.

  • Phosphorus
  • Vitamin D
  • Riboflavin
  • Potassium
  • Zinc
  • Magnesium
  • Omega-3
  • Iron
  • Iodine

Biological Response

  • Calcium : Calcium is used for building bones and teeth and in maintaining bone strength as you grow older.
  • Phosphorus : Keeping the bones and teeth strong. Helping the muscles contract.
  • Vitamin D : Vitamin D functions in the body to maintain proper levels of calcium and phosphorous, thereby helping to build and maintain bones.
  • Riboflavin : helps produce red blood cells and release energy from the carbohydrates you eat.
  • Potassium : Diets rich in potassium may help to maintain healthy blood pressure.
  • Zinc : Zinc are important nutrients for bone health.
  • Magnesium : it can help reduce bacterial contamination and spoilage, and increase the intestinal bioavailability of magnesium from milk.
  • Omega-3 : Help maintain a healthy heart by lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of sudden death, heart attack, abnormal heart rhythms, and strokes. May prevent inflammation and reduce the risk of arthritis.
  • Iron : Iron is a mineral that the body needs for growth and development. Your body uses iron to make hemoglobin, a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body, and myoglobin, a protein that provides oxygen to muscles.
  • Iodine : The body needs iodine to make thyroid hormones. These hormones control the body's metabolism and many other important functions. The body also needs thyroid hormones for proper bone and brain development during pregnancy and infancy.

  • Carbohydrates
  • Fat
  • Protein
  • Fiber
  • Sugar

Biological Response

  • Carbohydrates : Carbohydrates are your body's main source of energy: They help fuel your brain, kidneys, heart muscles, and central nervous system. For instance, fiber is a carbohydrate that aids in digestion, helps you feel full, and keeps blood cholesterol levels in check.
  • Fat : A small amount of fat is an essential part of a healthy, balanced diet. Fat is a source of essential fatty acids, which the body cannot make itself.
  • Protein : protein may indirectly improve metabolic health by aiding loss of body weight and fat mass through enhanced satiety, whilst promoting skeletal muscle growth and function through anabolic effects of dairy protein-derived branch chain amino acids.
  • Fiber : Helps maintain bowel health.Lowers cholesterol levels.Helps control blood sugar levels. Aids in achieving healthy weight. Helps you live longer.
  • Sugar : Higher energy levels. A stronger immune system. A better sleep. Improved gut health. Weight loss. Better overall health.

  • Monounsaturated Fat : Consuming monounsaturated fatty acids may help lower your risk of heart disease by improving your risk factors. For instance, MUFAs may lower your total and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels but maintain your high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol level.
  • Saturated Fat : Your body needs healthy fats for energy and other functions. But too much saturated fat can cause cholesterol to build up in your arteries (blood vessels). Saturated fats raise your LDL (bad) cholesterol. High LDL cholesterol increases your risk for heart disease and stroke.
  • Polyunsaturated Fat : Polyunsaturated fats can help lower your LDL (bad) cholesterol. Cholesterol is a soft, waxy substance that can cause clogged or blocked arteries (blood vessels). Having low LDL cholesterol reduces your risk for heart disease. Polyunsaturated fats include omega-3 and omega-6 fats.
